New England Environmental Services (NEES) was established by Richard Snarski, Registered Soil Scientist and Professional Wetland Scientist, in 1983. NEES provides wetland consulting services in areas of wetland delineation, wetland creation and restoration, inland and tidal wetlands, wetland plant surveys, State and Federal wetland permitting and wetland planting services.

NEES is a leader in the science of wetland creation and restoration. Blackledge River Nursery (BLRN) was established in 1990 to conduct research on created wetlands and propagate native herbaceous wetland plants for created wetlands.
